Barbecue Tools- Required For A Successful Barbecue

There are a number of varieties of tools available for the grilling of barbecues. They may be basic or complex. Some of the tools are expensive too. Based upon the basic steps in barbecuing the tools which are essential for barbecuing are categorized. Those tools include:

1) The first tool being the barbecue grill which is the basic essential without which the barbecuing can not be done.

2) Barbecue spatula is very essential to flip the food stuff. It is especially of help in preparing burgers and meat. This prevents the meat from falling apart while flipping them over.

3) Barbecue tongs are very helpful to grab the food stuff like sausages and hot dogs which tend to roll around over the grill. This helps to keep control over the food stuff and also ensures even cooking.

1) Matches or butane lighter with a long neck is needed if the grill does not have an automatic igniter.

2) Bottle opener for opening the bottle tops.

3) Cooks Apron made of sturdy cotton guards the wearer from the hazards of barbecuing like flying sparks, splattering foods etc.

4) Fuels are indispensable for using the barbecue. The fuels may be wood, briquettes, charcoal, newspaper or gas.

5) Grill scraper is needed to scrape off any residue of cooked food crumbs from the grill.

6) Spray bottle is of help to spray the cleaning liquid to the different parts of the grill. It is better if the spray bottle has an adjustable nozzle which is able to shoot nearly 10 feet.

7) Fire extinguisher is handy in case of emergency even though it is not an essential tool to turn off the fire on the grill

8) Meat thermometer is very helpful to check whether the meat is done. The instant read thermometer will be a fork like device which can be inserted into the meat and it will give the internal temperature.

9) Oven mitts are resistant to heat and fire, so it helps to protect the hands while cooking and also making emergency adjustments in the grill.

10) Cooking oil and clean cotton cloth is used to grease the grill which helps in easier cleaning up of the grills.

11) Carving board can be made of plastic, metal or wood. There should not be pores in the board since it will harbor harmful organisms.

12) Charcoal container should be air tight and moisture tight.

13)Side table gives extra space for working.

The Perfect Chocolate Cookie

The best chocolate cookie is the cocoa drop cookie. Not only are they delicious, but they are easy to make as well.

The ingredients required for this recipe are: cup butter, softened; cup shortening; 1 cup sugar; 1 egg; cup buttermilk; 1 tsp vanilla; 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour; tsp baking soda; tsp salt; cup cocoa powder, unsweetened; and 1 cup of chopped pecans.

First, cream the shortening and butter with sugar; beat in egg. Stir in the buttermilk and vanilla next, and then sift the dry ingredients together and add to the first mixture. Stir in the pecans, and chill the cookie dough for about an hour. Use a teaspoon to drop the dough onto a greased baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between the cookies. Bake in a preheated 400F oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until set. Then cool and frost with a simple chocolate or vanilla icing if desired.

Shortbread Cookie Recipe

Another great recipe is the chocolate covered shortbread cookie recipe. For this you will need: 8 ounces butter at room temperature; cup powdered sugar; 2 cups all-purpose flour; teaspoon baking powder; 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted; and teaspoon vanilla extract.

Combine all ingredients; knead with your hands to made sure they are well mixed, press into lightly buttered pans, and bake at 325F for about 20 minutes. Cut into wedges while they are still warm or break them apart.

A Simple Diet to Use With Diet Supplements

7:30 am - Weight Training or a form Aerobic Exercise for 1 hour. (We targeted specific regions of the body daily to preserve and promote muscle growth. (One group a day -Arms, Chest, Shoulders, Legs, Back, Stomach). If your needs are different or your weight prevents you from doing strenuous exercise, then just start by walking for an hour and progressively increase your exercise intensity over the next few weeks. This can be done in the morning or just before lunch but exercise in the morning is ideal because it kick starts your body and gets your body's metabolism started earlier.

9:30 am -Breakfast- 1 bowl of oatmeal. No Sugar. Use Splenda to sweeten if necessary.

10:30 - 11:00 am- 1 Whey Protein Shake (16oz)* - This can be found at your local vitamin / nutrition store. Usually at your local nutrition store. We suggest the Vitamin Shoppe or GNC for taste and price.

12:30 pm - Chose any of the following Steak, Chicken or Fish. 1 serving of white rice ( about 1/2 cup) and 1 serving of vegetables or Salad. These are the only things that can vary in your diet. Pick a different vegetable and meat every day to keep it interesting. Stay away from sauces. Hot sauce is fine or something else with out carbohydrates. Season with powdered seasonings.

4:00pm - Whey Protein Shake*

7:00pm Eat the same as lunch but without the rice.

8:00pm- Whey protein shake*

*Whey protein shakes are best when mixed in a blender with ice but if this is not available just use a plastic cup with a and shake it up with ice and water. Small amounts of fruit and milk are fine to mix in as well.

Valentine's Day Cards Aren't Just For Lovers And Significant Others

You probably think that Valentines Day is for just married people and couples but you are indeed wrong. You can always send a valentine card to anyone that you love or care for at this time of the year. This is being taught around the world to kids to show them love so they will spread love and not be hateful of anything or anyone. Kids will buy cards or most likely make them with and for their teachers and parents. In school in the lower grades everyone will have a valentine. By doing this everyone feels special and that someone cares for them.

This day in the year is also for adults to show other people that they love them as well. Dads might send chocolate and flowers to their wifes. Moms might send a valentine card to their sons. Kids might send a valentine card to a parent or grandparent to show them that they love them too

Good friends also send valentines to one another sometimes. Maybe a simple card that shows them youre there for them in a hard issue around that time of the year. When you send a card like this around the time of year this is occurring it will let someone know you still love and care and havent forgotten them. A lot of friends you have probably feel left out and ditched because you found a new relationship. You just need to show them you havent forgotten them at all.

When you send one of these cards to someone that maybe doesnt even have family it will mean more to them than anything else because they have nothing or no one else. Getting some type of greeting card will be nice to them even if it isnt a valentine card.

The big thing that has become famous in valentine cards is the wives and husbands that are off in the war in Iraq they will probably be missing you more than anyone else and you are probably missing them more than anyone or anything else. A lot of these men and women as well are off at war and may not have people to write to so they will like a greetings valentine card. A lot of groups send cards and thank you cards to the people who are stationed overseas to show them that they care for what they are doing in Iraq.

It doesnt really matter who it is you send a valentine card to the receiver will love that you though and remembered them no matter what. Especially if the one you send it to has nothing and they are lonely and need you.

1. Identify your participants and send them invitation before hand using secured mail services. If you are sharing conference security code, please mark your mail as "do not copy" which is a feature of most recognized mailing system like Lotus note.

2. If possible, have a small set up of web conferencing equipment inside your own DMZ area. The advantage of hosted model is that you can keep the information within your company's IT infrastructure. You can use it for extremely sensitive meeting. In case of high demand, avail the services of conference call providers for less sensitive conference call.

The Environmental Protection Agency states that 89% of 10,500 ingredients commonly used in personal care have not been adequately evaluated for safety. Among these ingredients are carcinogens, penetration enhancers, allergens and harmful impurities that can cause cancer, inhibit fetal growth, cause nerve damage, disrupt hormones and cause other severe reactions.

Dell Inspiron 600m Notebook Computer

After twelve years of owning desktop computers, I finally opted for a laptop so I would no longer be chained to my desk. After months of research and weighing various makes and models, I settled on the Dell Inspiron 600m Notebook Computer. This particular model has exceeded all of my expectations and at a price that is hundreds of dollars lower than many competing brands.

For several months I agonized over my next computer purchase. I knew I needed to be more mobile and only a notebook computer would permit me to take my "show on the road." Still, the decision making process was not easy as the number of different makes and models out there is mind boggling. Ultimately, I settled on a Dell in part because of previous good experience with the company as well as affordability of their product line.

The model I chose was the Inspiron 600m. As with almost everything that Dell builds, it is a "new" model; at least the 600m designation is. That is one of the confusing things about Dell and some other manufacturers: every month Dell introduces new models and you need a scorecard to compare one model with all the others. Fortunately, Dell's website allows you to do just that.

I kept my computer fairly basic but I did opt for the latest version of Norton Security, a surge protected cable, a wirless router, and a wireless mouse. I selected the wireless mouse as I thought the keyboard's mouse would be difficult to use. After two days I quit using the wireless mouse as I quickly got used to the built in one.

The screen is bright and the keyboard is solid. The mouse keys, however are noisy, almost clunky; you wonder if Dell could have used a quieter spring for each key.

The battery lasts at least four hours without recharging and when I do need to recharge I can go from nearly dead to fully charged in less than one hour.

For the price -- I paid just over $1100. for everything including shipping and local taxes -- the Dell cannot be beat. I haven't had to call customer service yet, so I cannot comment on that although in years past your call would be routed to a technician in India. This model comes with a standard one year limited warranty; I avoided a later sales pitch over the phone to get a three year warranty. Their top of the line warranty sends a technician to your house to fix your computer, so it can be option for those of you who do not want to ship -- and thereby lose the use of -- your computer back to Dell for repairs.

You will find the Inspiron 600m to be adequate for standard business work. Check out their myriad of other models if you do plenty of graphic design or if you need a larger screen. I am happy with the 14.1 screen, but you may prefer their 17" model.

What's Special About Abused Women?

Before writing this article, I stopped and thought hard. By writing this, would I be putting potentially harmful information in the hands of abusive men? Would I be putting more women at risk? The answer kept coming back no although the question did bring to mind another characteristic of abused women that Ill come back to.

The thing is, although abused women arent usually aware of whats special about them, abusive men are. In fact,it would be hard to teach an abusive man anything he doesnt already know about choosing a victim.

Abusive men often come across, initially, as the unusually sensitive ones. This they undoubtedly are - to their own real and perceived hurts; and also to their partners vulnerability.

Whether you choose to explain it as a sixth sense, a powerful conditioned response, or something akin to pheromones, doesnt really matter. Abusive men are exquisitely attuned to pick out vulnerable, susceptible women, however these women may present themselves.

Its unlikely these men could put the process into words. But they evaluate the responses of their prey very carefully. Whatever appears to be happening at the verbal level, at a deep level they are watching for the womans readiness to abdicate her own personal power.

The particular type of woman theyre looking for is characterised by a fundamental defencelessness. She may not present that way. On the surface she may be attractive, competent, able to take care of herself. At bottom, to a predatory man, shes a soft touch.

So what are the characteristics that set an abused woman apart?

Shes a naive romantic. She believes that love, her love will conquer all. It takes her the longest time to learn that love doesnt excuse her partner from being accountable for his actions.

She doesnt know when to give up and walk away.

She is a natural at guilt, apologies and shouldering the blame for whatever goes wrong.

She takes responsibility for anything and everything. Hence my concern that writing an article aimed at revealing the specific characteristics of abused women might benefit predatory men.

She doesnt believe that she is good enough. Her low self-worth, progressively lowered in an abusive relationship, means that however imperfect her man is, she still feels inferior to him. She sees him as compensating for her own inadequacies.

Her no lacks authority. In other words, she is easily bullied and put upon. She may sound strong-minded, but her wants, needs and reasons never carry the same weight for her as those of her partner.

She has little or no idea of boundaries. She has little instinct for self-protection or self-preservation. Her best strategy is often to hope that others will do right by her. (This strategy causes frequent, painful disappointment.)

She believes in gender stereotypes. Men are the strong, powerful ones. Women cant manage on their own. Women need a man to complete them and to manage the challenging areas of life.

Shes really into rescue. A generous soul, she may well yearn for a rescuer, but she cant resist running to the rescue of anyone in distress. (This is often part of what attracts her to an abusive partner.) Shes slow to learn that the people she rescues are more likely to turn aggressive than to show gratitude and loyalty in the long term.

She believes that she is entitled to far less from life than other people. Other people have rights, she only has wishes that she believes are probably unreasonable.

Shes a generous, long-suffering person.

Does she sound familiar? It wouldnt be surprising. Abused women make up a significant proportion of any community. And it tends to be their gentler, more feminine qualities that put them at risk. By acquiring self-awareness and learning to ring-fence their frailties with strong boundaries, they can safeguard their specialness. At the same time they can protect themselves from further abuse.

Steak Recipe - The Backyard Grill - An American Experience

Hey folks, its time to fire up that grill! One of the most common activities in American recreation is grilling that nice, big, juicy steak in the backyard. Here is my favorite steak recipe, along with a great grilled side to accompany it:

Griffs American Grilled Black Pepper & Garlic Steak

Ingredients:

4 lbs. (approximate) thick cut rib eye steak (four steaks)
2&2/3 cups Italian dressing (cheap is good!)
8 tbsp. butter
4 large cloves minced garlic
2 tbsp. freshly ground black pepper (or more, if you love black pepper!)

Instructions:

Marinate the steak in the Italian dressing for at least 1/2 hour. In a small pan, melt the butter and add the garlic, heating slowly until the garlic is golden brown. Place steaks on hot grill (preferably a charcoal grill), sprinkling half of the pepper on steaks. When the first side is done, turn the steaks over and sprinkle the rest of pepper on steaks. With a spoon, pour the butter and garlic mixture over the top of steaks while they are still on grill.

Griffs American Grilled Potato & Pepper Pouches

Ingredients:

3 cups unpeeled, sliced potatoes
2/3 cup green bell pepper (with membrane & seeds removed), diced
2/3 red bell pepper (with membrane & seeds removed), diced
2/3 orange bell pepper (with membrane & seeds removed), diced
2/3 cup onion, cut in long, diced
2 tbsp. jalapeno pepper (with membrane & seeds removed), finely chopped
2 large cloves minced garlic
1 tsp. Lawrys seasoned pepper (or just black pepper)
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. butter

Instructions:

Combine everything except the butter in a large mixing bowlreally mix everything well. Cut 4 18 x 12 sheets of aluminum foil. Lay the foil flat (dull side up) and put 1/4 of the mixture on each sheet in a mound that is at the center of one end of the foil. Make sure there is space between the mound and all of the edges of the foil. Put 1 tablespoon of butter on the top of each mound. Fold the other end of the foil over the top of the mound and fold the side edges up over the top so that when you are done you have four neat pouches. Put the pouches (butter on top) on a very hot grill for about ten minutes, then flip over and grill another 10 minutes, or until potatoes are tender. Take off grill and allow to stand a few minutes, then empty each pouch on four dinner plates.

Interference

Some wireless speakers may interfere with other wireless devices in your house like cordless phones. A good wireless speaker system will allow you to tune it to a different frequency to overcome these interferences.

Battery life

Battery life is not always too great on wireless speakers, as it consumes power to drive the speakers, internal amplifier and RF receiver. So, if you want to use your wireless speakers for extended periods of time, it may be wise to make use of the AC power adaptor. Now this may not always be practical - the whole idea of wireless speakers is to get rid of the wires. Rechargeable batteries might be the answer and some of the models even come with rechargeable batteries -something to consider when you need total freedom, even from power outlets.

Range

Most wireless speakers can work fine within a range of 150 to 300 feet from the transmitter. (Which would be located at the source of sound i.e. your hi-fi or computer) The RF frequency is high enough for it to work through walls and furniture. You do not need a line of sight, but bear in mind that obstacles weakens the signal, and the more obstacles between the transmitter and receiver, the shorter the range will become.

Weatherproof

Outdoor wireless speakers are claimed to be weatherproof, but if you do not need to use your speakers outside all the time, rather store them inside. This will definitely extend the life of your valuable outdoor wireless speakers. If you really need to leave it outside all the time, try to find a spot where it can be hidden from the most harsh weather conditions.

Stereo

Not all wireless speaker systems include two speakers to give you a stereo experience. Especially the outdoor wireless speakers are sold as single units. This can easily be overcome by purchasing two speakers, obviously doubling the price.

Legislation

Wireless speakers use RF signals which may interfere with other RF devices. Make sure that the frequency range is legal in your country. If it is sold by a reputable dealer in your country, this should not be a problem. Wireless speakers are till a fairly new technology and some still have issues to be sorted out. So you have to do your shopping wisely.
